Project Continuum

Creative Technology & Narrative Systems Project

Project Continuum is an original creative technology initiative focused on narrative quality assurance, workflow automation, documentation systems, AI-assisted production, and interactive storytelling development.

The project demonstrates how business analysis, quality assurance, validation practices, and automation concepts can be applied to large-scale narrative and media production.

Creative Technology Project

Project Continuum is an original intellectual property and development initiative created by Thisha Smith.

The project combines storytelling, business analysis, quality assurance, documentation, automation workflows, AI-assisted content production, and interactive media planning into a unified creative technology ecosystem.

The initiative serves as both a long-form narrative development environment and a practical demonstration of structured validation, process design, workflow management, and production governance.

Project Overview

Problem

Branching stories and interactive narrative systems can become difficult to manage when scripts, character continuity, scene logic, and production assets grow across multiple chapters or episodes.

Goal

Build a repeatable workflow for organizing story content, validating continuity, identifying inconsistencies, and supporting future game or visual novel production.

Outcome

Created a structured local production pipeline using documentation, automation planning, continuity checks, and AI-assisted workflow support.

Workflow Architecture

Source Canon
Expanded Chapters
Script Breakdown
Continuity Checks
Visual Prompt Gen
QA Review
Production Export

Validation Areas

Validation Area Purpose Example Check
Character Continuity Ensure character behavior stays consistent Verify motives, dialogue tone, and scene reactions.
Timeline Logic Confirm events occur in correct sequence Detect chapter-to-chapter contradictions.
Scene State Track locations, objects, and unresolved actions Confirm scene locations, objects, and state variables remain consistent.
Dialogue Integrity Preserve key lines and emotional intent Ensure required dialogue remains unchanged.
Branch Readiness Prepare story segments for interactive structure Identify choices, consequences, and state variables.
Production Notes Support downstream assets and prompts Capture visual, sound, and cinematic direction.

Automation & Testing Concepts

Continuity Checker

Purpose: Detects character, timeline, and setting inconsistencies across chapters.

Script Compiler

Purpose: Organizes narrative content into scene-ready output for review or production.

Visual Prompt Agent

Purpose: Converts story beats into structured image/video prompt concepts.

Showrunner Review

Purpose: Reviews tone, pacing, continuity, and cinematic consistency.

Regression Review

Purpose: Ensures new chapter edits do not break established canon or prior story logic.

Sample Test Matrix

Test ID Scenario Expected Result Status
CDH-001 Chapter continuity check Verify that script elements align with prior chapter canon Passed
CDH-002 Required dialogue validation Key dialogue remains intact after expansion Passed
CDH-003 Timeline sequence review Events follow established order Passed
CDH-004 Scene state validation Location and unresolved actions remain consistent Review
CDH-005 Visual prompt readiness Scene contains enough visual detail for asset generation Passed

Example Issue Log

Issue ID Finding Risk Resolution
ISS-001 Scene transition lacked clear narrative continuity Medium Added continuity note for next-chapter opening.
ISS-002 Dialogue segment had inconsistent tone compared to prior scene settings High Flagged for rewrite review and tone alignment.
ISS-003 Visual asset prompt missing environment details Low Added lighting, location, and mood descriptors.
ISS-004 Branching implication not documented Medium Added potential state variable note for future VN adaptation.

Lessons Learned

Interactive storytelling requires the same quality discipline used in software systems: traceability, regression checks, clear acceptance criteria, and controlled change management. This project demonstrates how QA and business analysis methods can be applied to creative production pipelines to reduce inconsistency, preserve continuity, and prepare story content for future interactive formats.

Future Expansion

Visual Novel Adaptation

Branching choice logic and state tracking.

Unity / Game Export

Future-ready structure for game scene integration.

AI-Assisted Production

Local/offline AI agents to support writing, prompting, validation, and documentation.
